How do I book a place?

When should I book my child into preschool?

For our preschool, the earlier you book the better – as we often have waiting lists for certain days. We recommend your child starts in September in order to receive the full benefit of preschool education before your child starts school.

Does my child’s younger sibling automatically receive a place at the preschool?

If you have a younger sibling please be aware they do not automatically get a place so please ensure you enrol them early!

Last-minute bookings can be accommodated if we have space and if you have completed the registration process. However, you will not be eligible for any funding with late booking so fees will be payable until the following term.

We do accept funding which will be deducted from your termly invoice however if funding for the extended 15 hours lapses, full payment must be received.

Do you accept childcare vouchers?

Yes, we accept all childcare vouchers. We can provide reference numbers for several, so please contact the office and let us know which company you are using. You will also need our Ofsted number. For Woodlands Park use 2516426. You can use these vouchers off your terms fees however you need to set them up as regular payments.

Please ensure these are set up and you submit the remittance to our office as proof of payment so we can see what date to expect your vouchers.

We also accept Government payments as detailed above.

Do you accept 15 hour funding?

Yes we do. Your child can attend 2 – 5 mornings a week. We recommend 5 mornings to take full advantage of the learning opportunities. We ask for a small cost each term towards snacks and consumables.

You can use these against our early drop off and our lunch club sessions.

Can I pay monthly?

All fees are due before the start of term. You are able to split the payments over 2 or 3 months before the term starts, however all fees must be paid before the start of term or late fees will be incurred. To find out more, please contact the office info@wiseowlschildcare.co.uk.

I’d like to cancel my place. What notice do I need to give?

For our Preschool, we need a minimum of one full term’s notice in writing (email to info@wiseowlsclub.co.uk). This applies whether you are just dropping some sessions, or leaving altogether.

Please be aware we do have minimum sessions you must attend so you will be unable to cancel falling below these.

If your child is starting school, please ensure you get your notice in before the start of the summer term so you are not invoiced for the Autumn term, and so that we can offer your space to another child.

Do you offer a sibling discount?

We do not offer a sibling discount for our Preschool. Instead, we aim to keep a fair price for each place. But the 15 hours free childcare is free each and every week.

Do you offer holiday clubs?

We have holiday clubs in Slough and Maidenhead at this time. Visit our Holiday Clubs website for more information.

I’ve paid my invoice but I still received a reminder by email. Why is this?

Payments sometimes take time to show up in our account, especially voucher payments, and as reminders are sent out automatically, they may overlap. We ask you to ignore the reminders if this is the case, or if you have already contacted us to inform us of when the payment will be made. If it has been longer than 10 days since you have sent your payment, and you still receive a reminder please contact us at info@wiseowlschildcare.co.uk as it may mean we have not correctly allocated your payment.

However, if you have not paid it is important that you pay on receipt of the reminder to avoid late payment fees. Confirmation emails for your payment are sent once the invoice has been paid in full. To help this process, please ensure all payments are made on time with the correct reference for us to log it. If you have any issues with payments please ensure you keep us posted.

What’s the difference between a permanent booking and an extra session?

You must book a permanent space for your child to attend the preschool each week. This must be 2 mornings for under 3’s. Over 3’s must attend 3 mornings However 5 mornings is ideal for there full learning in Pre School. On top of these sessions, you can add lunch club or early drop off as a permanent or extra.. You must contact the school and check availability before making a booking for this service. Payment will be By cash or BAC with your child reference before the day.

I have a regular session booked, but I’d like to swap it to another session this week. Can I do this?

We cannot accommodate swapping sessions, but you can book an extra session (subject to availability). This is because we organise staffing levels and equipment and pay rent according to the numbers of permanent bookings we have.

Do I pay for bank holidays/holidays/sick days?

Yes, we charge for inset days and bank holidays where they fall in our term dates (our term dates are available to view on our website here). We also charge for sick days as set out in our Terms and Conditions, as we provided a place for your child according to your booking and we need to meet the costs incurred.

If my child isn’t coming today after all, how do I let you know they won’t be attending?

Please contact us as soon as you know your child is not attending a session by contacting the preschool 01628 829328 Woodlands Park or by contacting the office on 01628620013.

If I tick lunch does that mean my child gets a cooked meal?

No, if you are in the preschool, you can attend an additional lunch session which is part of the childcare and an additional cost. Otherwise, will need to provide a nut free, healthy cold lunch for your child.

What does my child need to bring?

Your child will need a preschool uniform including a jumper and t-shirt which you can buy through the Pre School. Order forms are available at the preschool.

They will also need a book bag to take things home each day/ week. You can purchase this through the preschool.

Children will also need some white or black plimsolls for sport activities and a change of clothes each day just in case you get wet.

They will need appropriate clothing for the day to attend indoor and outdoor activities. In winter, children will need coats, gloves and hats. They should also leave wellington boots at preschool for the winter term so they are available each day. In summer, the will need a sun hat, glasses and sun cream.

All bags and coats must go home at the end of each day.
