We can accommodate up to 12 babies between the age of 8 weeks – 2 years old. We adhere to staff:child ratios of 1 child to 3 practitioners ensuring that your child has the attention they need throughout the day to thrive. Our babies enjoy a free flow space onto our outdoor decking where they regularly enjoy sand and water play, sensory play and physical games.
The baby room and decking are designed to nurture our youngest children and allow them to freely explore and discover, with activities intended to engage and excite babies, such as sensory play, messy play, books, rattles, treasure baskets, pull along toys and interactive wall activities. Our babies often venture out into the meadow for picnics and to build strength in their legs and arms as they learn to crawl and walk.
Through our daily practices, we not only care for our babies but also lay the foundations for a lifetime of learning and curiosity, all within a setting that respects the natural world around us.
Monitoring your child’s development
Our early years practitioners ensure that every child meets their personal developmental goals and attains the highest standard of learning, following the EYFS seven areas of learning and the Wise Owls Curriculum. Each child is assigned a key person who gains a deep understanding of their interests, abilities, and progress. Parents are invited to participate in parent consultations throughout the year to learn about their child’s development. We prioritise fostering an open and collaborative relationship with parents to cater to each child’s needs effectively. All learning and developmental milestones are documented on our digital app.
Sensory and Creative Play
Our babies have a wide range of sensory play opportunities that encourage the development of fine motor skills and support language development. The staff plan a variety of sensory and physical activities, including sensory tuff trays, sensory lights, painting with a range of tools, books, rattles, treasure baskets and more that help in all areas of the child’s development and support them to learn and meet their milestones.
Our philosophy centres around the belief that every child is unique, with their own rhythm, interests, and pathway to development. This belief guides our approach, allowing us to tailor our care and educational activities to the individual needs of each child, fostering an environment where they can thrive at their own pace.
We develop an excellent understanding of their likes and interests through good parent relationships, through the All About Me form and though closely monitoring their individual progress daily.
Breakfast
Our days begin with a communal breakfast between 7:45 and 8:30 am, offering a wholesome variety of cereals, porridges, and toast, ensuring our babies start their day with the energy they need for exploration and play.

Tea time
Tea is served between 3.30-4pm and consists of sandwiches, wraps, scrambled eggs on muffins, beans on toast as well as a variety of fruit and vegetables.
